Every Sunday we come together to partake of the Lord’s Supper. This is precious to us as it is an act of obedience to The Lord Jesus Christ Himself with the primary purpose of remembering Him.

Acts 20:7, 1 Cor 11:24-25, 1 Cor 12:12,27

Everyone who participates in the Lord’s Supper has trusted in The Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour and is saved by grace through faith.

Eph 2:8-9, Titus 3:5, Rom 3:23-24

We’re believers in the Lord Jesus Christ

We’re baptised as believers by immersion

Following salvation, the Bible commands baptism by full immersion. This is distinct from christening, infant baptism, household baptism and confirmation.

Acts 2:41-42, Acts 8:38-39

Following salvation and baptism, the local church (assembly) ‘adds / receives’ a believer into fellowship. A believer who is received agrees with and accepts the practices and teachings of the assembly, based on the apostle’s doctrine in the New Testament.

If you have not yet been baptised as a believer and have been added to a local church (assembly), we welcome you to observe the meeting and join in singing, but ask that you refrain from sharing in the bread and cup and from speaking or praying audibly.

We are in ‘fellowship’ with one another

The Lord’s Supper is led by the Holy Spirit. Men (brothers), may pray, read from the scriptures or ask the congregation to sing a hymn. Women (sisters), offer equally valued worship, contributing in prayer silently.

We’re not scripted

We seek to reflect God’s order and headship. Men speak or pray with uncovered heads; women cover their heads and pray silently. You are not obliged to cover your head if you are an observer, but we have some head coverings available if you would like to.

We display the glory and order of God

If you are not known to us, we would appreciate a letter of commendation from your own assembly before receiving you to share in the bread and cup. This will allow your assembly to express their confidence in you and to send their greetings.

If a letter is not possible, please contact one of our elders at least one day in advance so we can arrange to meet or speak with you before the meeting. If others in our assembly know you well, we will

  • Participation in The Lord’s Supper is for believers who have been baptised according to the scriptures and are presently in fellowship within a local church (assembly).

  • Worship by men and women is equally valued – men pray audibly and women worship silently.

  • Headship is expressed by men having uncovered heads and women having their heads covered.

  • Letters of commendation are appreciated; otherwise please speak to our elders before the Lord’s Supper.
